Networking of access control
In building complexes with office and administration infrastructures, the simple and reliable regulation of access authorisations for staff, visitors and residents is often challenging. The issue here is establishing who has the right to enter which building, and how this can be managed across multiple buildings in particular. With the SecuriGate Expert Ultimate access control system, Securiton offers a solution that can connect several large buildings together without any problems.
The Federal Office for Buildings and Logistics (FOBL) provides the civil federal administration with the necessary real estate, manages and optimises the real estate portfolio according to sustainable standards, and is also responsible for maintenance and operation of the properties. As a result, the FOBL was also tasked with ensuring managed access control across all four administration buildings at a building complex in the centre of Bern.
SecuriGate Expert Ultimate to the rescue
The FOBL found the solution to this tricky problem with SecuriGate Expert Ultimate from Securiton – the access control system for large-scale premises. Developed for peak performance, this system manages building access reliably, efficiently and with great precision – regardless of how extensive the infrastructure is and how complex the security situation is. The software plays an important role here. It offers reassurance that the access control system is available at all times, can be adapted precisely according to customer wishes and also works perfectly under intensive use.
The versatility of SecuriGate Expert came to the fore when meeting the requirements set by the FOBL. The access control system was connected across four buildings so that the users can access exactly the areas they are authorised for – including in different buildings. Almost 100 badge readers were installed and 1,600 licences granted. Since then, the administration units and federal offices in the four buildings have been connected together in such a way that staff, customers and visitors alike can access the rooms and areas defined for them.
