Bank BSI AG Lugano

BSI AG, the Ticino’s oldest established bank, is today represented all over the world. With more than 2400 employees worldwide the BSI has been part of the Generali Group for some twelve years now.

In late 2007 it took over the Banca del Gottardo. Its headquarters, a building designed by Ticino star architect Mario Botta, was incorporated into the BSI and renovated on a grand scale. The complete security system from Securiton was upgraded and now comprises the very latest fire and intrusion alarm systems as well as access control and management systems.
BSI AG is one of the leading Swiss banking groups in the private banking sector. Established in Lugano in 1873 as Banca della Svizzera Italiana, it is now represented at all of Switzerland’s major financial centres as well as in Europe, Asia and Latin America, with more than 2400 employees at year end 2008.
Thanks to the stability of its management, its focus on preserving traditional values and its close ties with its clients the BSI has successfully established itself in a hard-fought market. In recent years the BSI has pursued a policy of growth aimed at creating an increasingly competition-based banking group, which led to the takeover of Banca Unione di Credito and in 2007 of Banca del Gottardo.
