The Ticino pharmaceutical company Ginsana SA specialises in the manufacture of high-quality products made from natural substances and extracts. At its production facility in Bioggio near Lugano the company, which is part of the Boehringer Ingelheim Group, recently upgraded its entire fire alarm system, opting for a comprehensive security solution from Securiton.

The product range of Ginsana SA in Bioggio in the Canton of Ticino is based on natural products and plant extracts and is the result of the most rigorous scientific research and experience. The fact that Ginsana belongs to the global Boehringer Ingelheim Group, one of the world's top 20 pharmaceutical companies, enables it to play a leading role in the natural health sector. Ginsana products are used for boosting the body’s defence mechanisms, skin care, multivitamin preparations for pregnant and lactating women, and to treat sleeping disorders and benign prostate disorders. Ginsana SA employs 180 people and markets its products in 29 countries.

In 2010 the entire fire alarm system at Ginsana’s Bioggio plant was updated and upgraded – with a comprehensive solution from Securiton. The new SecuriFire fire alarm system controls 650 combined smoke and heat detectors, four optical smoke detectors, and eight linear infrared fire detectors. Eight aspirating smoke detection systems of the type SecuriRAS ASD, 70 manual call points, 320 room indication lamps, 40 indoor sirens and other fire alarm technology were also used to make sure that fire has no chance on the Ginsana premises.
