Securiton fire detection and fire alarm system for Swiss Post HQ
Situated in the booming WankdorfCity district, this futuristic service building is home to 1650 workplaces and a spacious staff restaurant. Securiton was commissioned with protecting the entire building using a SecuriFire fire detection and fire alarm system. Additionally, two server rooms and the loggia were equipped with SecuriRAS ASD 535 aspirating smoke detectors.
This easily accessible, seven-storey service building has space for around 1650 workplaces. These are found mainly on floors two to seven and used by 1920 people as part of a desk-sharing concept. The three atriums are connected by the foyer and ensure the building is flooded with natural light. The staff restaurant with space for 450 people and a conference room are located on the ground floor. The first floor houses meeting rooms of various sizes and a café. Parking – including for 450 bikes – is found on the first and second basement levels.
Comprehensive protection
Lots has been done to prevent the outbreak of fire at the new Swiss Post headquarters. Losinger Marazzi commissioned Securiton AG with the installation of an extensive SecuriFire fire detection and fire alarm system. A total of six SecuriFire control panels were installed, with the system receiving status information from over 2000 SecuriStar MCD 573X multi-sensor detectors. These detectors combine smoke and heat sensors and both detect and report all types of incipient fires in an instant. 125 manual call points also allow a fire alarm to be triggered manually, while 125 sirens make sure that the fire alarm is heard. In the foyer, two SecuriBeam BSD 535 beam smoke detectors monitor the high, spacious area with their infrared light beams. The Securiton security solution installed at the new Swiss Post headquarters is rounded off by the two SecuriRAS ASD 535 aspirating smoke detectors in both server rooms and in the loggia on the first floor.
