Securiton video monitoring at Pantheon Basel

This spectacular museum with garage and workshop offers everything fans of classic cars could possibly wish for. In order to protect the valuable cars and two-wheelers against unwelcome guests, a professional video monitoring system from Securiton keeps a close eye on things.

The word “pantheon” comes from Greek and was used in ancient times to describe a temple dedicated to all gods. Fittingly, Pantheon Basel is a place where masterpieces of automotive engineering can be worshipped.

A mecca for fans of classic cars

Pantheon Basel was founded in 2008 by Basel- based businessman Stephan Musfeld. In the circular former Züblin repair and machinery hall in Muttenz, he established a classic car museum that is also a workshop, parking facility, meeting place and salesroom. What sets this museum apart is the fact that visitors can admire the vehicles on a ramp winding upwards in a spiral through the circular hall. Some of the lovingly maintained classic cars on show here belong to private individuals, who leave their little pieces of history in the rented parking bays. This means that they don’t gather dust back home and can be admired by a wider public. Meanwhile, the garage with its own radiator workshop and saddlery offers everything from minor repairs all the way through to complete restorations. The Pantheon Restaurant offers a wonderful view of the vehicles on display in addition to a menu packed with Mediterranean flair.

Keeping a close eye

It comes as no surprise that Pantheon Basel relies on the highest quality when it comes to security. Securiton has looked after the intrusion alarm system in the building since 2015. For its tenth anniversary, the managers at Pantheon Basel also had an intelligent video monitoring system installed by Securiton: the IPS Video- Manager is an intelligent management application that assumes control of all monitoring tasks. The images on the installed fixed dome cameras are analysed and enable Pantheon Basel to maintain the overview at all times. In an emergency, the standardised operating concept helps the operator immediately find his or her way around the system and take the necessary steps. Furthermore, the security system is also linked to the operation centre at the Securitas regional branch in Basel. Securitas monitors access to the building outside normal opening hours, meaning the cars, bikes, motorbikes and carriages from bygone days are perfectly protected day and night.
