Protection for international administration building
Geneva has lots of international organisations and consulates. Therefore the amount of workspace available to the employees of these organisations and national agencies is at a premium. An office building with 400 workplaces and an underground car park has recently been built in a central location at a cost of CHF 50 m. Security solutions from Securiton protect the modern premises against fire and use video surveillance to ensure a complete overview at all times. A sprinkler system from Viansone has also been installed to extinguish fires in the event.
Palais des Nations
The Palais des Nations (Palace of Nations) in Geneva has served as the European headquarters of the United Nations since 1966 and is the second-largest of the UN's four major offices sites. Due to the Palais des Nations thousands of people work in Geneva, whether for consulates, diplomatic missions or countless governmental and non-governmental organisations.
Offices for 400 people
The FIPOI (Building Foundation for International Organisations) is responsible for providing the building infrastructure to international organisations. It therefore commissioned a building with administration and conference premises in a central location, on the Avenue de France, close to the railway station and the Palais des Nations. 400 workplaces on nine floors and 129 parking bays on two underground levels were created as a result.
Protection of the highest quality
The principal had already had good experiences with the Securitas Group's security solutions, which is why it contracted Securiton AG with the installation of high-quality fire alarm system: 840 combined smoke and heat detectors of the type SecuriStar MCD 573, 550 room indication lamps and 35 manual call points were connected to the modern SecuriFire fire alarm system. Viansone SA, which also belongs to the Securitas Group, installed a sprinkler system. During the construction project the project management also opted for the installation of a future-oriented video surveillance system. Here, too, Securiton had the right solution: 12 high-quality IP cameras in strategically crucial locations provide the tried-and-tested IPS video management system with images of the highest quality.
