At Mikron Machining, a division of the Mikron Group, the production site in Agno 2012/2013 in Ticino was upgraded. As part of this comprehensive renovation, Securiton AG renewed the fire alarm system in the production halls.

Mikron Machining is the leading provider of customised, high-performance machining solutions for the production of complex, high-precision metal parts. The high-performance cutting tools used at Mikron Machining are developed and produced in-house, and are among the best in the world.
The headquarters of Mikron Machining is located in Agno. The division has developed and put into service around 7,000 machining systems up to now. Its international customers are active in the automotive, electronics, telecommunications, consumer goods, building, pneumatics and hydraulics industries. Mikron Machining employs a total of around 530 staff around the world at the production companies Mikron SA Agno (headquarters), Mikron Tool SA Agno and Mikron GmbH Rottweil (Germany), plus the sales and service company Mikron Corp. Monroe (USA).
Sophisticated fire alarm system
Mikron SA in Agno has been a loyal customer of Securiton AG for decades. Years ago, numerous fire alarm system components from the Securitas Group were installed at the company headquarters and in the production facilities. Hundreds of smoke detectors – plus special solutions such as aspirating smoke detection systems, line type heat detectors and linear infrared fire detectors at exposed locations – have guaranteed reliable safety for many years. As part of the latest renovation works, Mikron entrusted Securiton with the connection of the existing systems to the new SecuriFire 3000 fire alarm system. This safety solution is designed for large-scale applications and was able to be fitted perfectly to the existing fire alarm components. Since its installation in 2013, it has guaranteed reliable and user-friendly operation and alarm transmission in the event of a fire.
Thanks to years of positive experiences with numerous fire alarm products, Mikron SA will also be putting its trust in the high-quality, perfectly customised safety solutions offered by Securiton in future.
