Geneva television tower with all-around protection
Radio Télévision Suisse (RTS = Swiss Radio and Television) is a division of the Schweizerische Radio Gesellschaft (SRG = Swiss Radio Company). RTS is the market leader in the west Swiss radio and television market. The RTS head office in Geneva was completely renovated a few years ago.
In order to modernise the security of the striking high-rise, Securiton was commissioned to install a modern security solution. The result is impressive.
The renovated RTS high-rise in Geneva convincingly translates existing architecture of the 1970s to today. Thanks to windows without parapets and the two top floors protruding out a full house width, the construction opens to the city and Romandy. The interior mainly houses the national television in French with its four channels; Westschweizer Radio with its four stations has its head office in Lausanne. RTS primarily serves 1.6 million viewers and listeners of French-speaking west Switzerland.
Comprehensive security
Upon completion of the renovation, it quickly became clear that the security solutions were also in dire need of modernisation. RTS commissioned Securiton AG with the job. A Securi- Pro intrusion alarm system now continuously monitors the entrances, a telephone switchboard ensures secure communication (also to remote locations), and the VideoManager image analysis system evaluates the images of 100 cameras. Thanks to the SecuriLink UMS (universal management system), all of the data originating from the numerous security solutions is provided as easy-to-understand information so that in an emergency a response can be initiated fast and trouble-free. Connected to the SecuriLink UMS of the RTS in Geneva is an intrusion alarm system and the video surveillance system; a third-party access control system was also easily connected to the UMS. The camera data of the RTS office in Lausanne is also analysed and evaluated in the Geneva UMS system.
