DT Swiss on the safe side with Securiton
DT Swiss is a Swiss manufacturer of high-performance components for the sporty bicycle segment. In addition to its headquarters in Biel, the company produces and sells worldwide at locations in the USA, Taiwan, Poland, France and Germany. In order to ensure the highest quality in the area of fire protection, the existing Securiton fire alarm system at the headquarters has now been completely renewed.
DT Swiss was founded in 1994 - as part of a management buy-out from the former Vereinigte Drahtwerke Biel, the new company took over the spoke production division. Over time, DT Swiss expanded its production to include other bicycle components as well as complete system wheels and now develops and produces spokes, rims, hubs, nipples, shocks, suspension forks and seat posts. With Trickstuff GmbH, high-end brakes and brake accessories have also been part of the DT Swiss Group's product portfolio since January 2022.
Modern headquarters
The company started with 30 employees at the time of its foundation and has grown to become an internationally active group of companies with 900 employees. First-class products are developed, produced and marketed worldwide. Company-specific production standards apply at all production sites in order to meet the high quality requirements. In 2011, a new headquarters for around 200 employees was built in Biel with office, warehouse and production areas. This is where the threads of the company group come together and the worldwide activities are coordinated from here. The newly occupied building in the industrial area combines a modern office building with a spacious production facility.
Reliable fire protection
In order to protect the employees, the infrastructure and thus the entire company effectively and in keeping with the times against a fire, the entire fire alarm system at the headquarters was modernised by Securiton at the beginning of 2023. The modernisation took place while the company was still in operation. The interruption to the fire alarm system had to be kept as short as possible during the modernisation, which Securiton AG achieved without any problems thanks to its many years of experience. Both the office building and the factory hall were equipped with the latest fire alarm system, the SecuriFire 3010. This system provides reliable protection against fire like almost no other fire alarm system. The combined smoke and fire detectors MCD 573X, which replaced the previous smoke detectors, are also among the best on the market.
The successful collaboration led to DT Swiss also relying on Securiton for the modernisation of the burglar alarm system, which was implemented jointly.
