Prison "La Stampa" Lugano

The new operations centre consists of two workstations capable of monitoring all the security measures throughout the La Stampa buildings complex via the SLS-Pro security management system – with the simple click of a mouse. One inescapable consequence is that the prison’s monitoring and administration system has been noticeably simplified as a result. What’s more important, however, is that in an emergency it is now possible to intervene swiftly anywhere on the prison premises. The surveillance of all the access and transition points is handled by a programmable controller. 

More than 120 cameras were installed for the video surveillance. The combination of fixed and mobile cameras provides excellent coverage of the entire inner and outer sectors of the prison complex. Image storage systems are used for image management and recording; they provide outstanding configuration flexibility and are based on a modular concept that can be expandable at any time. The intercom system with more than 110 stations and the personnel protection system for the prison staff complete the facilities available to employees.

No sooner has the new La Stampa complex gone into operation than the next revamping phase is about to get underway. Construction work on a new main building is scheduled to begin next year. It will provide premises for prisoners to see their visitors. For Securiton the completed project was proof once again that the company and its employees have all the skills and expertise needed to satisfy the requirements of maximum security. The security management system at La Stampa adds yet another prestigious complex to Securiton’s list of reference projects.
