Innovation Park Biel/Bienne
Security for the innovation of tomorrow. Our intelligent fire protection system secures the futuristic new building by the main station.
The Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne (SIPBB) is more than just a building – it is the beating heart of a visionary think tank that promotes industry-oriented research and development in an inspiring environment. The SIPBB’s futuristic new building, home to 500 creative minds working, researching and studying, stands in the immediate vicinity of the main railway station. The flexible spaces it offers include both open (for permanently rented co-working spaces and start-up strongholds) and enclosed spaces in the form of offices, laboratories and clean rooms. The SIPBB is proud to be one of the six locations of the umbrella organisation Switzerland Innovation, which coordinates, markets and manages federal guarantees.
Interplay of complexity and innovation.
As part of the Switzerland Innovation Foundation’s extensive network, the SIPBB aims to attract research minds from around the world, nurture Swiss innovation and start-ups, and turn the fruits of research into marketable products. With this aim in mind, the SIPBB in Biel offers a platform that includes land reserves, research and development services and state-of-the-art technological equipment. At the heart of the SIPBB are its four research centres – the Swiss Advanced Manufacturing Centre, the Swiss Battery Technology Centre, the Swiss MedTech Centre and the Swiss Smart Factory. These centres work together in harmonious interdisciplinarity and are supplemented as required by engineering services, technologies and state-of-the-art laboratory and space infrastructure. Our state-of-the-art SecuriFire alarm system safeguards this inspiring environment.
Flexibility and cost-effectiveness despite changing needs.
In the interest of intelligent fire protection, the SIPBB opted for our SecuriFire 3000 fire alarm system, a choice that focuses on outstanding flexibility and cost-effectiveness. The decentralised, modular architecture of this fire protection solution consists of the control panels, the SecuriLine eXtended addressable loops as well as detectors, alarm transmission and display devices, and indication and control maps. The appropriate modules are deployed creatively, depending on the needs and size of the building. In the case of the SIPBB, two SecuriFire 3000 control panels monitor the building, while over 845 multi-sensor detectors provide early detection of smouldering, glowing and open fires and immediately transmit the location to the control panels.
