In the middle of Wankdorf-City stands a groundbreaking commercial building that not only houses 1650 workplaces, but also boasts a spacious staff restaurant. Skillfully developed and designed, the seven-storey building offers desk-sharing space for 1920 people. Three atriums, artfully interwoven through the entrance hall, allow the building to shine in a blaze of light. The 450-seater staff restaurant is on the ground floor, while a conference centre invigorates the senses. The first floor houses various meeting rooms and an inviting cafeteria. The lower floors are home to car parking spaces and parking for 450 bicycles. As safety experts, we were chosen to protect the entire building with a state-of-the-art fire alarm system.

Protection concepts consist of many details.

The new Swiss Post headquarters building is not only an architectural masterpiece, but also a bulwark against potential fire hazards. Losinger Marazzi entrusted us with the installation of a comprehensive SecuriFire alarm system. Six SecuriFire control panels form the heart of the system, while more than 2000 multi-detectors feed information into the system. These versatile detectors, a blend of smoke and heat sensors, detect and relay any form of incipient fire with lightning-fast precision. The system also includes 125 manual alarm call points and 125 sirens, which ensure that no fire alarm goes unheeded. In the spacious entrance hall, two SecuriBeam BSD 535 linear smoke detectors monitor the volume with their infrared light cones. Rounding out Securiton’s safety measures at the new Swiss Post headquarters are two SecuriSmoke ASD aspirating smoke detectors in the server rooms and the loggia on the first floor.
