Mall of Switzerland

The Mall of Switzerland retail and leisure centre in Ebikon, near Lucerne, opened to the public in November 2017. With 150 shops, restaurants and a wide range of exceptional leisure and sports facilities occupying a total lettable area of 65,000 m², it is the largest project of its kind in Switzerland after the “Shoppi Tivoli”, which opened in 1970. As a leisure and family destination, it is home to shops, a giant 12-venue multiplex cinema, Switzerland’s largest IMAX cinema screen, an indoor children’s playground and the country’s first indoor surfing facility. Its excellent accessibility thanks to its own bus and suburban railway stop, motorway access and spacious cycle parking facility underscores the thought-through concept. We are partners of the Mall of Switzerland with our innovative safety and security solutions in the field of fire protection and video security. 

Modular fire protection inside.

To maintain the integrity of the mall’s safety concept, its operators and the individual retail outlets commissioned us to install a comprehensive fire alarm system tailored to their specific needs. This is where our redundant modular SecuriFire system came into play. Ten reliable fire alarm control panels monitor a large number of detectors, including 4350 powerful SecuriStar combined detectors designed to spot incipient fires quickly and reliably. The extensive mall also features 21 SecuriBeam ILIA linear smoke detectors for pinpointing smoke and fire. Rounding out the system are 450 manual call points, fire incident control elements and 150 selectively controllable smoke extraction zones. 

Video security outside.

In the area of video security, we were awarded the contract to equip the mall’s public areas, access/exit routes and multi-storey car park with an intelligent system. 138 cameras supply our IPS VideoManager with sufficient information to provide the Mall of Switzerland security managers with a comprehensive round-the-clock picture. In this modern shopping and leisure oasis, security and innovation go hand-in-hand to ensure a fully protected and enjoyable experience for visitors and businesses alike.
